Sunday morning coffee, answering emails, the cleaner here, forcing me to move from desk to coffee table and back again, and my highlighter marking up passages in the 2016 edition of ‘The Writer’s & Artists Yearbook’.
I like this idea of a writer’s blog being a place for research, and thrashing out ideas. An online collaborative workspace, where others can push a project in unexpected directions.
But is it going to work? How to go about it? Will i spend too long on this prevaricating, when I have serious writing projects to get on with?
My novel, ‘The Temple of the Djinn’ keeps getting shoved aside far too often, by all and sundry life-happenings. And next Thursday is the deadline for an article I have promised for The Community Times on veganism in Egypt.
That’s a tough one, as even amongst the vegan community here, understanding of veganism often seems relatively shallow. But still, needs must and I.m committed to the piece.
Going back to this concept of using a blog as a research tool, and because I am planning a number of articles for the Egyptian English-language press on the subject, let’s see how this whole concept pans out…watch for questions and polls and requests for info in the coming days.
